RACHEL YUAN 


Congratulations to Rachel Yuan, our July “Student of the Month”!  Rachel is 10 years old and will be entering  5th grade this year.  She has been taking piano lessons for 6 months now.  She is a great student and always comes to lessons with a great attitude and well prepared!

Rachel was recently participated in her first recital Rachel, playing "Viva La Rhumba" and "Those Creepy Crawly Things on the Cellar Floor". I was proud of how well she did for her first performance!  Rachel also enjoys drawing, reading books about animals, and belongs to a swim team!

As a teacher, I am really enjoying teaching Rachel, and I am delighted in her progression so far!  ​

 
AUGUST 2015 
DANIEL RODRIGUEZ 


Congratulations to Daniel Rodriguez, our August “Student of the Month”! Daniel is 11 years old and will be entering 6th grade this year. He has been taking piano lessons for about 3 years. He is a great student and always comes with a “ready-to-learn” attitude!
This year, Daniel participated for the first time in GUILD (Am. College of Musicians Assessments). He performed all of his pieces by memory along with the technical exercises to go with each piece. He scored very well, and I was proud of how well he did in this first GUILD assessment! Daniel has also participated in the TVMTA Festival Auditions (he earned a superior rating an a Gold Medal this year (pictured above), as well as performing in several of our Studio   Recitals.                                       

Daniel has so many talents! In addition to piano, he also enjoys tap dancing, musical theater, singing, and cross country. To relax, he enjoys playing video games and watching movies. Because his family could not have dogs or cats, Daniel has gathered a huge collection over the years of stuffed ones with each one having their own name! His favorite foods are Hot Cheetos, Korean BBZ, steaks, sunny side up eggs, coffee ice cream, banana cream pie yogurt and Cinnabon!

As a teacher, I am really enjoying teaching Daniel. He is always so polite and receptive to work with, and I love the many different interests that he is exploring! I’m looking forward to seeing how he progresses!

SEPTEMBER 2015
JOANNA CHEN 


Congratulations to Joanna Chen, our September “Student of the Month”!  Joanna is 11 years old and in 7th grade. She has been studying piano for about 5 years and says that what she enjoys most is learning new pieces, and especially the fun ones!

Last year, Joanna earned the “First Class Honors with Distinction” level in the rigorous Royal Conservatory Music Development Program and a Gold Medal in the TVMTA Festival Auditions. She also participated in several recitals. 

Joanna’s favorite subject in school is math. She enjoys reading and her favorite books are in the Land of Stories series. Joanna also loves the performing arts, and participates in school drama projects whenever possible. In her spare time, she says that one of her favorite places to hang out is at the pool with friends!

I am so proud of how well Joanna is doing. She is a thoughtful and well prepared student, and a joy to teach. I am excited to work with her each week and looking forward to seeing how she progresses this year!

JANUARY  2016
ALEX PAYNE


Congratulations to Alex Payne, our January “Student of the Month”!  Alex is 5 years old and attends kindergarten. He has been studying piano for about 1 year and says that he likes piano because it is “fun to play”!

This year, Alex participated in his first recital. He performed 3 pieces: Peter Peter, Deck the Halls, and Jingle Bells at our Holiday Recital. I was so proud of how well prepared he was and how well he performed during his first time performing in public!

Alex says that he enjoys arts & crafts the most at school. He also has started karate and love it. He is a white belt. In addition to all this, Alex plays baseball and is part of the Murrieta Little League.

Alex loves cats and has 3 of them named, “Fluffy”, “Boing”, and “Duh”. He considers himself their Daddy and takes good care of them! Some of his favorite things are chocolate cake, the Home Alone 3 movie, and going to the Trampoline Park. He also likes to give presents to people!

I’m so proud of how well Alex is doing. He’s off to a great start! He is a bright student with a fun personality and I enjoy our time together.

MAY 2016
JOSHUA MEDICI


Congratulations to Joshua Medici, our May “Student of the Month”! Joshua is 6 years old and will is completing 1st grade this year. He has been taking piano lessons for about 1 years. He is a very fun and lively student to teach!

Joshua participated for the first time last month in the TVMTA Festival Auditions. He performed 2 pieces by memory and earned himself a gold medal! I was proud of how well he in his first assessments! Joshua also recently participated in his school talent show and earlier in the year, he performed in our Christmas Studio Recital!

Joshua favorite meal is chicken with rice, and his favorite dessert is ice cream! His favorite books are the Magic Tree House series and favorite move was the Lego movie.

In addition to piano, Joshua also take taekwondo, and has just recently earned himself a blue belt. He also likes playing outdoor games a lot.  As a teacher, I am really enjoying teaching Joshua. He is always full of life and is a sweet boy!  I’m looking forward to seeing how he progresses!

 
JUNE 2016
THOMAS HAO


​Congratulations to Thomas Hao, our June “Student of the Month”!  Thomas is 7 years old and finishing 2nd grade. He has been studying piano for about 1 year and says that he likes piano because he “likes the sound of music”!

This school year, Thomas participated in the Holiday Recital, playing Locomotive Boogie and O Come All Ye Faithful,  and in the June Summer Recital, playing Canario and Miniature Sonatina.  The Miniature Sonatina was a duet that he performed with his sister.  He is a turning into a great performer!

Thomas says that his favorite subject in school is math. He also likes spelling and reading. For a sport, Thomas plays tennis and is excited to be beginning tennis lessons.

Thomas’s favorite food is dried bean curd sticks. His favorite movie is “Home Alone” and his favorite book is “Tom Sawyer”.  One of the places he enjoyed going to the most was on the Disney Cruise!

Thomas has an older sister that studies piano and a younger sister. He has a fish named “Tiger”, a bird named “Kiwi”, and a turtle that he just calls “Turtle”.

I’m very proud of how well Thomas is doing. He’s off to a great start and is improving quickly!  He is a smart student, takes instruction exceptionally well, and always comes prepared for lessons. I very much enjoy our time together and expect to see many wonderful pieces played by Thomas in the future!
